ADComms has completed a significant investment in its Scunthorpe facility with the delivery of a bespoke digital control test system, reinforcing the company’s long‑term commitment to quality, efficiency and increased in‑house capability.
Developed and supplied by BJ Controls, part of Process Control Services (PCS) UK Ltd, this purpose‑built system has been configured specifically to support the build, overhaul and testing of ADComms power harnesses. The digitally automated nature of the system removes the risk of human error during testing, while the investment reflects a clear focus on strengthening internal manufacturing and assurance capability to meet customer requirements consistently and reliably.
Towards the end of last year, members of the ADComms team visited BJ Controls multiple times to review the system ahead of delivery, gaining early visibility of its operation and ensuring alignment with existing workshop processes. This early engagement helped ensure the equipment was tailored to ADComms’ real operational needs from day one.
Now delivered, the digital control test system will shortly be brought into live use within the production area. Test results are fully validated and repeatable on demand, ensuring complete integrity of the testing process. As a result, the final outcome of any harness test procedure cannot be manually altered or configured to falsely achieve a ‘Pass’ status if the harness is in any way defective or faulty. The introduction of this bespoke equipment will improve efficiency, repeatability and assurance across harness activities, while reinforcing the high standards of quality, compliance and reliability expected by ADComms customers.
Designed with practicality and ease of use in mind, the system features a clear and intuitive interface, enabling operators to work confidently and effectively. Initial training has already taken place, with further hands‑on experience planned as the new capability is fully embedded into day‑to‑day operations.
