ADComms has secured two significant telecoms contracts with Colas Rail, further strengthening the relationship and reinforcing its position as a preferred telecoms delivery partner for rail infrastructure projects across the UK. The projects support Network Rail programmes focused on improving reliability, safety and operational performance across the railway network.
The first project, MetroWest Phase 1, will support the reintroduction of passenger rail services between Bristol and Portishead. ADComms will deliver a comprehensive telecoms package including FTNx infrastructure upgrades, GSM-R enhancements, fibre and copper cabling, lineside telephony and associated telecommunications systems. These works will support the reopening of the route, the construction of new stations at Pill and Portishead, and the delivery of future-ready communications infrastructure for the railway.
Building on this success, ADComms has also been awarded the telecoms package for the Huish, Puxton & Worle Level Crossing Upgrades. The works include the installation, testing and commissioning of new lineside telephony systems, FTN connectivity and supporting cable infrastructure to improve operational communications and support the modernisation of critical level crossing assets. The programme will form part of wider signalling and safety enhancements across the route.
