We're delighted to announce that we have been awarded the Transport for London (TfL) Supplier Award for Outstanding Safety Initiative, recognising our commitment to health, safety, and innovation in the rail industry.

Our award-winning initiative focused on C.A.T Scanning and the identification/avoidance of buried services, a critical safety measure designed to protect both personnel and infrastructure during the Piccadilly Line upgrade program.

As a trusted provider of integrated communications and infrastructure solutions, ADComms has consistently prioritised safety and security. We are proud to report over 580,000 project hours without a Lost Time Incident (LTI) or RIDDOR event, and a Zero Accident Frequency Rate (AFR) — a testament to our proactive safety-first culture.

About the Initiative

The initiative aimed to:

  • bullet

Introduce new C.A.T scanning equipment approved for use in high-risk TfL/London Underground environments.

  • bullet

Tailor manufacturer training to TfL/London Underground-specific conditions.

  • bullet

Develop a robust competency assessment and management safety procedure.

Through collaboration with TfL stakeholders and equipment manufacturers, we implemented dedicated training workshops, followed by competency assessments for all scanning operatives. To date, 20 ADComms staff have successfully completed this program, ensuring safe and efficient identification of buried services across our sites.

Why It Matters

This initiative significantly reduces risks associated with buried utilities, minimises human error, and reinforces ADComms’ commitment to health, safety, and environmental excellence. By sharing these best practices with our contractors, we are setting new benchmarks for safety across the industry.

Winning this award is not just recognition of our efforts — it’s motivation to continue innovating and leading in safety standards.
